Fast answer: On the Canon EOS 90D, enable the camera’s Silent shooting / Silent LV shoot option (wording varies by menu), then test in Live View. If you see banding under indoor LEDs, disable silent mode or adjust shutter speed.

Do this (5 steps)

  1. Set mode dial to P / Av / Tv / M.
  2. Enable Live View (Start/Stop button).
  3. Press MENU → open the Shooting (red camera) tab.
  4. Look for Silent shooting, Silent LV shoot, or Shutter mode, then set it to Enable or Mode 1.
  5. Take a test shot in Live View. If banding appears under LEDs, disable silent or change shutter speed.

Direct answer

Turn on Live View, then enable Silent shooting (or Silent LV shoot, depending on wording) from the Shooting menus.

Troubleshooting

Option is greyed out

  • Remove any flash/trigger from the hot shoe.
  • Switch back to a normal mode (P/Av/Tv/M).
  • Enable Live View and check again.

Still hearing sound

  • Some sound can remain (aperture, lens AF/IS). The biggest difference is usually in Live View.
