SIGMA fp - Mirrorless Full Frame

And just like that, there’s a new player in town.

At an event where Sigma announced 3 new lenses that everyone was expecting, Sigma dropped this enormous bombshell on the photography world.

A sleek, exciting new camera that no-one saw coming is being touted by Sigma as “the world’s smallest and lightest mirrorless digital camera* with a full-frame image sensor”

The Sigma fp encloses a 35-mm full-frame Bayer sensor with 24.6 effective Megapixels in a very compact solid body. One of the key features Sigma are boasting about is its versatility and scalability.

Sigma is well known for its development of some fantastic lenses over the last few years and this plays beautifully into their plan allowing the mixing and matching of a wide variety of interchangeable accessories and lenses on the L-Mount bayonet (brought about by the new L-mount Alliance with Leica, Sigma and Panasonic).

The new Sigma fp really is small enough and casual enough that you could take it with you anywhere or any time yet still be advanced enough for some serious still shots or cine shooting.

Check out the SIGMA fp concept movie below to see some of the interchangeability options and the classy design they have come up with. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this exciting new camera.

Stay tuned to find out how to purchase yourself one.
