Fast answer: On the Canon EOS M6 Mark II, enable Silent shutter / Silent shooting (electronic shutter) in the Shooting settings, then do a quick indoor LED test shot. If banding appears, adjust shutter speed or switch silent off.
Canon Silent Shooting Guide: What silent shooting does, tradeoffs, and common problems.
Do this (5 steps)
- Set a normal photo mode.
- Press MENU.
- Go to Shooting settings.
- Find Silent shutter, Silent shooting, or Shutter mode, then set it to Enable / Electronic.
- Take a test shot under indoor LEDs. If banding appears, change shutter speed or disable silent.
Troubleshooting
Rolling shutter / distortion
- Electronic shutters can distort fast motion. For action, test silent on vs off.
Banding under LEDs
- Try a different shutter speed (common fixes are to move to 1/50, 1/60, 1/100, 1/120 depending on mains frequency) or disable silent.
